Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to join our growing Marketing and Communications Department. This role develops and executes the external and executive-level internal communication strategy for Rincon. It supports the communication efforts of the Executive Team, including the CEO/President. The responsibilities include composing and reviewing corporate and employee communications, creating communication plans for department initiatives, and managing major communication campaigns and activities. Additionally, this position ensures ongoing development and implementation of the company’s internal communication strategy, aimed at building employee awareness, knowledge, and engagement through thoughtful, innovative, and professional communications.

Additionally, to promote in-person collaboration and client teaming, we prioritize hiring those who reside within 50 miles of a Rincon office which currently includes: Carlsbad, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. Please note, this position is listed for the City of Ventura but is also available at all the locations stated in this job description.

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads, manages workload, and develops the skills of the communications team.
  • Develops and leads internal communications strategy to effectively influence, inform, and inspire internal audiences about organization initiatives and transitions
  • Creates communication plan campaigns, presentations, e-newsletters, and other supporting written communication in support of organizational strategy
  • Collaborates with leaders to develop and execute a corporate communication calendar/road map to support CEO communications, organizational initiatives, key projects, core imperatives, and transition rollouts
  • Leads the development of content to support organizational change as needed; advises and supports change management initiatives and communications
  • Ensures a consistent look, feel, and tone across initiatives in alignment with Rincon’s brand
  • Attends key team member meetings regularly to listen and collect feedback and information to develop relevant and timely communications
  • Communicates directly with key team members to provide progress updates, understand priorities around brand, message, and timing, capture critical success factors, and make recommendations that align with our strategy
  • Evaluates leadership communication channels continually and identifies new and impactful ways to communicate leadership messages (regular staff meetings, Quarterly Business Updates, leader roadshows, newsletters, etc.)
  • Coordinates the internal communications response to critical situations related to organizational operations, environmental impact, and client relations as needed
  • Provides ongoing editorial and consultative support for internal BizOps clients (Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Legal, etc.)

This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • 10+ Years of related experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly and concisely, and simplifying complex concepts for a broad audience
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to precision in execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced skills in PowerPoint
  • Strong project leadership abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on timelines, deadlines, milestones, and phases
  • Ability to provide honest feedback to executive-level employees
  • Keen judgment and interpersonal skills for handling highly confidential information
  • Skilled in interacting personably and diplomatically with staff at all levels, including company executives and technical experts
  • Ability to influence others and offer advice that reflects an understanding of team dynamics, business strategy, and leadership styles
  • Experience with driving alignment among cross-functional teams towards shared goals, adept at taking on both leading and supporting roles
  • Proven ability to source and evaluate external vendors when necessary
  • Provides ongoing editorial and consultative support for internal BizOps clients, including Accounting, Human Resources, IT, and Legal departments

The base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000-$175,000, plus a generous benefits program. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
