About The Role
We are seeking a Power Platform & Azure Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of client-facing applications built on Microsoft’s Power Platform and Azure. This role will work closely with internal technical teams, stakeholders, and clients to deliver scalable, secure, and well-architected solutions.
This is a contract-to-hire position with strong potential to convert to full-time based on performance and business needs. A key expectation of this role is the effective use of AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and maintainability.
Contract-to-Hire Details
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain client-facing applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Power Pages.
- Develop and integrate Azure-based services including Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, and Dataverse.
- Implement REST APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to rapidly generate, refine, and optimize application code.
- Review, validate, and harden AI-generated code to ensure it meets production, security, and performance standards.
- Configure and manage Dataverse environments, security roles, and data models.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Apply Azure security best practices including RBAC, managed identities, and Key Vault.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, and clients to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support demos, UAT feedback, and production deployments.
- Ensure solutions follow Microsoft Power Platform best practices and governance standards.
AI-Assisted Development Expectations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with AI coding and automation tools as a core part of the development workflow.
- Strong judgment in validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ability to provide clear prompts, constraints, and architectural guidance to AI tools to achieve high-quality results.
- Comfort working in fast-iteration development cycles enabled by AI-assisted code generation.
- 4+ years of experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure application services.
- Experience developing client-facing or external-user applications.
- Strong understanding of Dataverse data modeling and security.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and integration patterns.
- Experience incorporating AI-assisted coding tools into professional software development workflows.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control and CI/CD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Power Platform certifications (PL-100, PL-200, PL-400).
- Experience with Power Pages for external users.
- Consulting or professional services background.
- Experience with Azure AD B2C / Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with Power Platform ALM tools.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this as-needed position ranges from $50.00–$60.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Salary ranges are based on the market median of similar jobs, according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Base pay is determined based on internal equity and a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
